Doncaster Pupil Lifestyle Survey Results 2020

The Pupil Lifestyle Survey is conducted by Doncaster Council to provide valuable data on children and young people’s health-related behaviour, through an anonymous school-based questionnaire. Data from the survey has provided a set of Doncaster-wide figures at key points in children and young people’s development; KS2, 3 and 4.  Cohort reports are made available from self-declared indicators through the survey. These reports are a summary of the survey data conducted for the academic year 2020 and focus solely on the demographic group SEN mainstream schools.

Oral health of 5 and 12 year old children attending special support schools in England: survey results

Public Health England has published the results of this first national survey, which took place in the academic year 2013 to 2014.

The results of the survey, broken down by region, shows:

  • wide variation in tooth decay prevalence and severity in both 5 and 12 year old children attending special support schools in England

  • children in special support schools have slightly lower levels of tooth decay than children in mainstream schools but are more likely to have their teeth extracted

  • children who experience decay also have more teeth affected and poorer oral hygiene.
