COVID-19 NOTICE

Due to the Coronavirus (Covid – 19) outbreak the current guidance documents for Supervised toothbrushing clubs has changed. Supervised toothbrushing clubs are now able to restart providing refresher training with Public Health (Doncaster Council) has been completed. New guidance documents will be provided for those settings wishing to restart. We are still recommending that settings should not participate in any disclosing activity or any oral health lesson plan which involves using the mouth mirrors. Updated 18/01/22

Children's Oral Health Advice E-learning This e-learning programme provides information and advice about children’s oral health. It is aimed at parents, expectant mothers, early years healthcare workers, teachers, nurses, GPs and the public.
Gulp: Give up loving Pop Free resources including PowerPoint's and assemblies to help reduce consumption of sugary drinks.
Sugar Smart Resources for schools to help reduce sugar consumption, including the Fizz Free February campaign.
Dental Health Promotion E-Learning 
This 30min session aims to enhance your knowledge and skills regarding oral health and factors that predispose to poor oral health. Promoting oral health in the infant and young child forms an integral part of this session.  To access the course scroll down to the section of the page that includes 'Sample Sessions'.

Brush DJ 

A website and app that encourages brushing for an effective length of time and helps to establish good oral health habits.

Instructions for completing an activity to observe the effects of acid and fluoride on tooth enamel. 
Change 4 Life - 'Keeping Our Teeth Healthy' KS1 & KS2 resources to teach the importance of dental health.
HENRY - Growing up with Healthy Teeth video A 20 minute video that outlines key messages for keeping young childrens' teeth healthy.
Supertooth's Healthy Teeth guides A selection of videos created by the British Society of Paediatric Dentistry in collaboration with Dr Ranj for a range of ages! 

 

Doncaster Oral Health Promotion Resources for Primary Schools

Doncaster Public Health has developed 2 resource packages – Key Stage 1 (Year 1 and 2) and Key Stage 2 (Year 3 to Year 6). The purpose is to promote good oral health and healthy eating behaviors from the early years of life.
