Key worker childcare over Easter

Information and Support

Letting Schools Know of Your Easter Weekend Childcare Requirements

As you know, a number of Doncaster schools have remained open to support the children of key workers.

To assist the schools and their staff, we are asking ALL key workers to get in touch with their school as soon as possible to advise them of what childcare they will need over the Easter weekend and beyond if they can. We know this won’t be possible for everyone with changing shifts and working patterns, but if you can, having this information with some notice can help schools hugely to ensure the right staffing and planning.

To do this, simply contact the school or setting your child is currently at directly, and advise them of your childcare requirements. Your help at this time is very much appreciated, and will help the schools to continue to support you in the best way.

A full list of schools that remain open are available at www.doncaster.gov.uk/FIS - if you are a key worker and your child does not have a place, you can still apply for one. Visit the above link to find the most convenient school for you, and contact them directly.

Pre-school childcare and early years support for Key Workers

If you are a key worker with a child of pre-school age and need support with finding a temporary early years or childminding place, the council’s Families Information Service are keeping an up-to-date list of providers who remain open and the team can support you by matching you and your child/children with the most appropriate setting. Visit www.doncaster.gov.uk/keyworkerchildcare to find out more or contact the team on 0800 138 4568
