A free digital workshop for primary schools on body respect

SYEDA has a free digital workshop designed to support Years 5 and 6 in building body respect, confidence, and kindness.

SYEDA has a free digital workshop designed to support Years 5 and 6 in building body respect, confidence, and kindness. Guided by three facilitators, pupils will explore each of the four Body Happy Skills: Literacy, Resilience, Kindness, and Advocacy.

 

The workshop was purchased by SYEDA from Body Happy Org and covers the following:

 

  • Pause points for classroom-based activities
  • Teacher-led discussions
  • Creative breakout tasks

 

The total session length is flexible - from 45 minutes to 2 hours - depending on how many activities you choose to run and how long you give pupils for each one. The workshop can be delivered anywhere and at any time, and there is a guide included to aid teacher delivery.

 

Key themes explored:

 

  • What body respect is and why it matters
  • How media messages shape how we feel
  • Kind self-talk and celebrating our bodies
  • Being an ally and champion for others

 

The workshop is designed for easy classroom delivery - no special tech or prior training needed. Just press play, pause when prompted, and use the printable resources and guidance provided.
