Senior Mental Health Lead Training

Did you know the Department for Education is offering a grant of £1,200 for eligible state-funded schools and colleges to train a senior mental health lead?

Prioritising mental health and wellbeing as young people return to school after the summer break? Confirm your funding now and if you haven’t already done so, book a senior mental health lead training course tailored to your setting and what you need to develop a strategic approach. 

Promoting and supporting pupil mental wellbeing can contribute to improved attendance, behaviour and learning. Senior mental health lead training helps develop the knowledge and practical skills of school or college leaders, with over 85% attending saying it enabled them to plan an effective whole school or college approach to mental health and wellbeing.

Claim a £1,200 training grant now and access quality assured training, selecting a course at beginner, intermediate or advanced levels from approximately 100 DfE quality assured providers. The training is designed to build on your existing approach to mental health and wellbeing, covering important topics such as:

  • Developing your universal and targeted support offer
  • Identifying mental health and wellbeing needs and monitoring the impact of support
  • Approaches to plan and lead change aligned to the work of your DSL/SENCO
  • Engaging students/pupils & developing positive relationships with parents, families and carers.
