RSE Day 2020

Celebrate on 25th June

RSE Day is on 25 June 2020. It is an annual celebration of excellent Relationships and Sex Education that educates children and young people about healthy relationships and positive sexual health.

RSE Day encourages schools and the wider community to get involved. It asks everyone to consider their role - whether as a parent/carer, an educator, a faith leader, a councillor, a health practitioner, a friend or family member.

RSE day is all about promoting the values of RSE; communication, cooperation, trust, resilience, kindness, compassion and respect. Now more than ever we can see the importance of healthy relationships, friendships, and connections.  Celebrate the 25th June with some fantastic suggestions for schools, parents and the community or plan your own events.

The theme this year is Books I Love About Love. A compiled book list including inspiring stories, novels and non-fiction books, which are suitable for children and young people from Early Years to young adult is available. As a parent, carer or teacher you can read some of the stories to your children or with them, chatting about the themes of love, trust, respect, resilience, co-operation and communication.

We hope you enjoy reading these thought provoking books which will develop love, kindness, understanding and empathy in children, young people and adults alike.

On RSE day, you can (virtually!) join an exciting programme of events. Nottingham Council are hosting a whole day of online art content with artists working in their art-form to explore relationship themes and set challenges for those watching, a draft timetable is available with more being added to the programme!
