Public Health at Doncaster Council would like to invite Year 5 and 6 classes to a free performance of the Dementia Play ‘Grandma Remember Me?’ as part of our intergenerational work to raise awareness and increase understanding of Dementia in Doncaster.  The performance is on Thursday 14th November at 2pm at Bentley Pavilion.  The play lasts approximately 1 hour. A short Q&A session will follow the performance.

About the play:

Grandma Remember Me? is a beautiful story told through a mix of puppetry, drama and storytelling. Written from the perspective of a young child, Lilly whose grandma develops Alzheimer’s. It explores their changing relationship from Lilly’s initial recognition that there is something wrong with her grandma, through the unfolding challenges and final acceptance and understanding of the disease. It explores the wider impact on family, the need for support and understanding within our communities and the importance of memories and relationships within our lives and how to keep and treasure them. The plays supports early diagnosis and shows how it is possible to live well with dementia.
